It Books, an imprint of William Morrow Publishers, has acquired world rights to PRESIDENT ME; The America That’s In My Head by comedian, actor, podcast king, and bestselling author Adam Carolla. The deal was negotiated by Carrie Thornton, Executive Editor, It Books, Dan Strone, CEO of Trident Media Group, and James Dixon of Dixon Talent. The book will be published June 2014.
PRESIDENT ME; The America That’s In My Head will be a collection of pointed, hilarious rants, this time with a decidedly political slant. Taking aim at a wide range of targets, including himself, PRESIDENT ME gives Carolla, known for his extreme hyper-vigilance, a chance to share his platform with the world. Grappling with the issues of modern life in this country, Carolla will include potentials “Czars,” and what they could oversee, suggestions for who should be exiled and why, and points out the problems with America at large. No topic is safe as Carolla gripes his way through the failings of current society, helping us prepare for the rush of political noise that will come flying our way starting with the midterm elections in 2014 and continue until 2016.
“Adam Carolla has a highly engaged fan base and is very skilled at delivering what his audience wants,” says Thornton. “I know that this book will offer his existing fans, and new ones, a much needed dose of humor just as the election machinery starts ramping up again. I’m very excited to work with Adam.”
Lynn Grady, Senior Vice President and Publisher of It Books says, “Ever since Adam’s first book came out, I’ve admired him and his hilarious world view from afar. PRESIDENT ME is going to resonate loudly with listeners and readers everywhere.”
Carolla says, “I’m thrilled to be collaborating with Carrie Thornton and Lynn Grady at It Books, and I know this will be my best book yet. I’m so excited about this project, I’m even considering not having it ghost written. Dude, don’t type that last part.”
